It’s not rare for one lady to ask the next, “what do you use on your face?” We all have our skincare and makeup routines that keep our skin glistening and glowing. Before getting to the makeup discussions, I always let my fellow ladies know that proper skincare is important. Putting makeup over skin that has not been taken care of is a big no-no. A good skincare routine at minimum consists of a good face wash and moisturizer along with a healthy diet, proper water intake, and adequate rest. (Catch your zzzs. Beauty rest is a real thing. A lack of sleep does show up on your face amongst other areas).
Launch Parties & New Products
In April, I attended a launch party at a Houston wellness studio, Defy, for an up and coming skincare line, Parry Botanicals. The founder & owner, Elizabeth Parry, was there sharing her story and providing information about her product line. We chatted for a while, and it was good to hear that it was good for all but ideal for those who wanted something non-toxic and with no added chemicals. This was good news to me because sometimes allergies get the best of me.

Hydrorestorative Face Cream
As the new owner of Parry’s Botanicals Face Cream, I easily incorporated it into my skin care routine which currently consists or Mary Kay or Aveeno face wash and some other beauty hacks. For two months, I used a small dab of the 4 fl. oz bottle morning and evening after washing my face.

Face Cream
About a month after using it, I noticed that my skin was softer and smoother to the touch. The biggest wow and surprise for me was the disappearance of 2 out of 4 major bumps that have been along my jawline for years.
Before using the cream, the bumps seemed to get inflamed depending on my diet. Of course the healthier I ate, they smaller they appeared, but they were still there. The rest of my skin is pretty clear but I could never get rid of these things. I tried everything – creme, toothpaste left overnight, and I even tried popping them (which I know is a no-no but I couldn’t resist). Nothing worked.
After about a month and a half of using the moisturizer, two of the bumps literally came to a head. I couldn’t believe it but sure enough, they came to a head on their own. The first one around 4th of July weekend (approximately 2 -3 weeks after using) and another 2 weeks after that. Some family witnessed it and were shocked as well. Needless the say, I’m happy with this product and definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for something without all the toxins that moisturizers can sometimes have.
