When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a Showtime at the Apollo dancer up until about 9 or 10 years old. I used to dress in my mother’s robe or a scarf. Then, I would put her heels on and dance around the house when the show came on. I loved the movement, sparkly clothes, and body freedom and expression. I’m doing something totally different now, but have found that I enjoy the same things.
